This is the official website for The Rose and Crown, Sutton-on-the-Forest, York.  We think that all previous sites have been taken down. Should you come across any please ignore them.

'The Rose and Crown' is the only pub remaining in the lovely North Yorkshire village of Sutton-on-the-Forest which is just 8 miles to the north of York. In November 2015 the pub closed for 5 months until a previous owner took up a short term tenancy. During this difficult period the Parish Council and a Community Interest Company (CIC) worked together to ensure that the pub was listed as an Asset of Community Value by Hambleton District Council. In October 2016 the pub closed again but the CIC raised over £30,000 to support the tenancy   and the pub re-opened on 9 December 2016.

'The Rose and Crown' is now re-established as a going concern at the heart of the village community through affordable pub food, great beers and wines and a programme of weekly and monthly events.   Neil is now the tenant and his partner Nikki is the Chef Patron.

Serving some of the best pub food in York we are open from Tuesday to Sunday and details of opening hours are opposite. Reservations are highly recommended.
